A movie has since been made with two more to follow and it took $152,000,000 in its opening weekend. Set to be this years highest grossing movie – this is the one to have!!!! Assassins Creed
Assassins Creed. Award winning historical fiction based video and one of the worlds most popular franchises. It has so far has sold over 40,000,000 units since its release This ever growing brand has gone from strength to strength and has branched out into comics, novels, apparel and now bedding. It has won numerous awards for its game play and graphics whilst at times being criticized for its historical inaccuracies but with a movie also planned in 3D from Sony and Assassins Creed III the game out in October this year, everyones favourites assassin is going to be very, very busy.
Angry Birds. A strategy based puzzle video game (or as I know it; fling the noisy furry things and knock stuff over to get points). Since 2009 over 12,000,000 have been downloaded from Apples iStore. Now with over 700,000,000 downloads across all platforms it is set for a TV series and even a movie and it has an appeal that seems to effect every age group. Just about anbody with an iphone or an iPad knows Angry birds.

Given today’s fixation with all things “ i ” you could, I suppose be forgiven for thinking that good old Barbie might just be a thing of the past. Make no mistake given that this new generation of children own a mobile phone before they own a bike, can text before they can walk and can tweet, blog or poke before they can write, I would have thought so too. Its OFFICIAL Barbie is back!!! Doll and Barbie related sales have soared in recent months – way ahead of the toy market in general and are now estimated at £120million. This sharp rise seems to have been fuelled by girls aged 8 to 11 prefering dolls to gadgets. Despite a few years in the wilderness whilst she was being outsold by rivals such as Bratz and the controversy surrounding 2009′s Tattooed Barbie it seems the worlds favourite blonde is back on her feet and pulling no punches.
Sainsburys reported a 37% increase in Barbie merchandise last year and NPD put sales of dolls up 23% on the year before, the equivelant to 15million extra dolls.
However Barbie is back on her feet but she’s not out of the woods yet and is facing stiff competition from the new Monster High brand of dolls that is currently tapping in to the popularity of all things vampire, spooky and supernatural. However as Barbie enters her 53rd year and sports yet another new look she has the backing of the “fickle” 8 -11 age group of girls and with those in her corner just who would back against her being top doll yet again this year?

Exciting news for those of you that have children that are fans of The Octonauts. We can now reveal that Cottonshack are going to be stocking the fantastic new range of Octonauts duvet covers and bedding accessories. Whilst we do not have a confirmed date yet we can tell you that the first delivery of duvet covers is likely to be around the end of October / very early November. Just in time for Christmas!! The childrens TV series, produced by Chorion for Cbeebies is based on the children’s books written by Vicki Wong and Michael Murphy of Meomi Design Inc. and follows the adventures of The Octonauts, a team of eight anthropomorphic animals that live in the Octopod under the sea.
A Huge Success
The Octonauts has so far been made in to 51 episodes for TV and uses state of the art CGI animation. It is reported to be the number one show watched on Cbeebies online and since airing on UK television in Oct 2010 it has gone on to be shown in France, Spain, Brazil and Australia. Well I suppose for you JLS fans 3rd June will go down in history as the date the new JLS movie “Eyes Wide Open 3D” opened in the UK. Well for us here that date will go down in history as the day we released the new JLS duvet “Outta this World” to coincide with the film release.
